yeah it 'overwrites' the original newsky model Wink
as with the original model, only 1 model is used for all the track folders, but different textures according to the track....it seems like the Sky.dk4 in each original track folder is redundant, thats not unusual to find in GP500 Smile

if you have the HiCloudd.bmp , HiCloudd1.bmp , HiCloudd2.bmp in the track folder, it will be fine....again just like the original Sky, Sky1, Sky2 Wink
and there is no need to edit the trackdata.txt, in case you were wondering Wink
if you dont have the textures in the active track folder the sky will be white

i have some sky textures done for Assen, Jerez, Mugello, Catalunya, Losail, Shanghai and Phillip Island so far with a close-to-real horizon....i will probably start uploading them soon either at the store or perhaps in the forums Wink
it would be good to have a topic related to gathering photos for making realistic horizons for the sky textures Cool the clouds is the easy part!
and maybe some of you in different parts of the world could provide photos for the hard to find tracks Wink

you must be jokin' m8!

The original Northern Loop was ten times better than that crappy northern Loop they've created now. The new hairpin is a real pain in the **** if you'd ask me Razz

As for the model and the track maurotex made, it looks absolutely awesome!
Only thing is that my lap times aren't 'registered'... anyone familiar with that?

M8 !!! I wasn't talking about the actual real life track but rather the original Assen track with the original textures as supplied in the original GP500 game.............sheesh Rolling Eyes

Another misunderstanding m8. I am being filmed (that's what the OBP fie is for right?). But I solved that one accidentally. When I copied Steve Sullivans PAT file into the Assen folder it got solved Razz

oh, ok. Didn't know that, hehehe.

i do have a small point of criticism about the track. Just a small thing, but i do want to share it Razz

The right kink, after the long right that brings you back towards the pits/start/finish/paddock/... is (in my opinion) to wide.
In real life that kink is just the same as in the original track of the game.
Like i said it's just to wide now and not much of a challenge as you almost can't get it wrong now...

apart from that the rest is absolutely awesome! Great job!

yeah i agree with that, i also thought in general its a bit too curvy, im sure that the apexes on some of the corners would be sharper in real life...nonetheless its marvellous, i still dont see this track in any other sim Cool
