Ok, hands up time, who's following BSB this year?
I for one am majorly looking forward to it! Anyone here going to Brands? I managed to get myself some Paddock hill grandstand tickets if you've never been to Brands, I'd really suggest that grandstand! You can see the entire circuit from it. Very Happy

Oh yeah, predictions too!

(Prefered)

1. Haslam
2. Rutter
3. Byrne
4. Harris
5. Haydon

(Likely)

1. Kiyonari
2. Lavilla
3. Byrne
4. Haslam
5. Rutter

can't go to brands this weekend as i'm marshalling with BMCRC at snetterton, but i've watched from that grandstand before and, like you say, it is awesome.

as for predictions, here goes
prefered:
1.Zak Barry (not gonna happen, i know, but he raced with BMCRC last season and is actually pretty damn fast Smile )
2.Byrne
3.Rutter
4.Ollie Bridewell
5.Tommy Hill

predicted:
1.Byrne
2.Kiyo
3.Rutter
4.Lavilla
5.Harris

incidently, zak barry was actually the fastest rider round the brands indy circuit from a standing start out of anyone last year, riding john reynolds 2004 bike, so he definately has talent Smile

gotta go for lavilla, then leon - that s what i think will happen

kiyo and harris up there too, but i think dunlop has closed the gap toi michelin from last year

i didnt see sunday s race, and wont see any til i buy the season dvd (got 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005). but lavilla coming third on slicks...man his rivals got a lot to worry about, the guy is on fire, and the spanish fans gotta thank colin wright for givin greg a big chance he was never given in his home country, unbelievably

Nah you've got the rider standings wrong, it should be:

Haslam - 142,762
Rutter - 587
Harris - 563
Byrne - 561
Lavilla - *-*783,932

Very Happy Didn't you see the papers...? Hehe
Rea---------Red Bull Honda-----54

He is on a HRC bike behind the other two HRC machines. Albeit two vastly more experienced HRC riders and ahead of the Hydrex and Paul Bird run bikes with two other fairly experienced riders.

I'd say his performance is average and he needs to turn the good qualifying positions he has had in to a win this season.

i reckon with sbk, adapting period shouldnt be long at all. lavilla hadnt ridden a twin in 5 years before he hopped on the 999. 2 strokes and mgp bikes are probably much trickier to set up, but sbk..if u got it, u got it. leon, haga, they were fast on dukes from day one.

after reading about the 3 first rounds, i doubt the airwaves and the hm plant hondas will leave many races for the rest to win. smart wont the other day, fair, but had it been a dry race... plus he s not going for the championship

btw - rutter has really faded these last couple of years
